Scene and commentary

This overview gathers the Pokémon of IT cards into a single visual field. Meeting windows, acronym blocks, a running wheel, cheerful promises, warning clouds and an empty battery appear beside one another. Narrow evolution panels connect several characters, and a larger chart sits near the bottom. The arrangement lets the reader compare behaviours that would otherwise be encountered one page at a time, from the newly arrived Passenger to the permanently upward-moving Escalator.

Seen together, the cards are less about isolated eccentric people than about competing ways of surviving the same workplace. The Attendee seeks presence, the Yespleaser seeks harmony and the Yaysayer supplies confidence. The Naysayer tests assumptions, while the Doomsayer expects the worst. These are not interchangeable reactions, even when an impatient meeting might classify all of them as either helpful or difficult.

One useful comparison is between the two apparently negative voices. The Naysayer's answer depends on evidence; the Doomsayer arrives with a catalogue of failure. Another is between the two agreeable voices: keeping a stakeholder comfortable differs from believing that a senior request makes something achievable. The overview makes those distinctions visible without requiring the reader to remember every card's wording.

The evolution arrows add time to the comparison. Repeated effort without progress may change how a person responds to the next request. An evasive conversation may turn into an upward handoff when a decision can no longer be avoided. These are fictional narrative relationships, not a validated model of employee behaviour. Their purpose is to make the consequences of a working environment discussable through exaggerated characters.

The overview can be read as a prompt for examining a meeting rather than labelling its participants. Where did the discussion produce evidence, where did it produce reassurance and where did responsibility move? Which behaviour did the room reward? The closing suggestion that the reader may have evolved into one of the creatures prevents an easy division between sensible observers and ridiculous colleagues. The collection works best when recognition travels in both directions, including towards the person doing the collecting.
